The system admin manual saysC
gYou should only perform a cold start if you cannot restart the queue
manager any other way. Performing a cold start enables you to recover your queue manager and your object definitions; you will not be able to recover your message data.......g
I just want to clarify if this means persistent messages already in the queue will also be lost ?
Can anyone help me to understand why this is the case ? If persistent messages are already on the queue, why the cold start delete them all ??
Read the activity list of the cold start procedure. It includes a delete / define of the pagesets. whatever was in the pagesets, its gone after that action, and because you do not have any logs you can not recover the queue content.
thats why they write you should check the other restart procedures first (loss of log, loss of pageset, loss of ....) _________________ Regards, Butcher
