Hi experts,
I'm curious about how I can archive files created by message flows.
Take user.log (defined in syslog.conf), for example, this file is being accessed by brokers, so is it possible to archive the file without stopping the broker?
Are there possible ways to do this?
Thanks in advance,

You copy the contents somewhere else, and then truncate the file.

Thank you very much for your help, jefflowrey.
Actually I'm worring about the time gap between the copy and the truncation.
During the copy, a syslog message can be written into user.log and the truncation would erase the message written during the copying.
How can I handle this situation?
Any ideas? |

Why dont you do this activity during non-production time. Normally, in the mid night where not much transactions happen.
This is the way, normally production environment runs. _________________ --SRK-- |

We can't stop the system and it is a user requirement.
365D/24H is a must. |
