Hi,

While setting up websphere MQ I learnt that the best practice is have logs written on a seperate physical drive. I have a couple of options here where a physical hard drive can be added to free slots on the server itself on which MQ resides or have the MQ logs written onto a SAN.
What are Pros and Cons of both these setups? Is there any documentation available that can help me guide to the best approach to achieve this.

Most HA configurations end up putting logs on SAN disk.

As long as the SAN disk can be configured such that it appears to be a local file system.

The usual advantages of putting *any* files on a SAN apply to putting the MQ transaction logs on a SAN.

The same with the usual disadvantages.
