Hello, I am manipulating a .FDL file for staffing and am interested in reducing its size.
Just as you can create an 'update person xxxx' section and then use it in the DESCRIPTION field for many Persons to dictate to whom they can assign work items too, is it possible somehow to dictate whose workitems a Person can view without making an 'update person xxxx' section for everyone?
I can't use 'authorized_for workitems_of all' in a Person's section because we don't want everyone seeing everyone else's workitems, we want it broken up a bit more than that. thank you! |

I do not follow all of what you are asking... But I can easily state the way MQWF works.
If you want user A to be able to view User B's workitems, then You must Authorize A to view the workitems of B. This can be done by using Authorize to the specific person B or Authorize to all. From a logistical standpoint authorize to all is by far the easier to maintain. This is generally the approach that I have taken, Then you can implement more restrictions in your client code that does the actual access. _________________ John McDonald

Thank you John for the response. Your answer made sense to what I was asking about but as of now, using the client code to implement more restrictions isn't feasible.
I was just interested if possible in trying to create several "groups" of people that I could choose from then when setting up a person and determining whose workitems the person would be authorized to view; rather than list for every person , the people he/she can view workitems for. That's what is making the size of the FDL so large. |
