I have installed WMQ v6.0.2 on Win-XP, Solaris, Linux and AIX successfully, and qworked with MQ since 1996. I have installed MQ v6.0.2 on my lenovo laptop on XP to use as a sandbox for admin dev. I have created 2 local qmgrs, started listeners on both, and created Sdr/Rcv channel pairs between the two, as well as channels pairs to a solaris dev server. I can successfully start the SDR channel on laptop XP qmgr to the solaris qmgr. When I start the SDR solaris qmgr to laptop qmgr I get a the following messages:
AMQ9002: Channel 'MQCAUXT1.IEDXR01' is starting
AMQ9208: Error on receive from host rail001610 (10.10.102.101).
AMQ9999: Channel program ended abnormally.
AMQ9208: Error on receive from host newvaio (10.10.102.230).
The return code from the TCP/IP (read) call was 131 (X'83').
My XP firewall is OFF, and other laptops on the network can map a network drive to me. And I'm on tghe laptop entering this question so my network connection is good....
Does anyone have any suggestions...... |

The standard troubleshooting technique for any kind of tcp/ip error is to a) ask your network admin for help, b) when they refuse, telnet to the listener port (in your case FROM the solaries machine TO the XP machine), c) when this confirms that the network is interfereing with your connection, d) go back to your network admin and ask them to explain why a simple telnet does not work, when they've already said that the network is not blocking things, e) wait three days for the firewall to be fixed. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Do you build message count and get a higher ranking by repeating posts within a post??????? |

Do you build message count and get a higher ranking by complaining about what other people post?

I would verify that the firewall is truly off.
You can choose to turn it on or off (default is off I believe), but your Active Directory admins may have a AD Policy which turns it on without your permission, or even knowning. In this scenario, usually outbound connections work OK, but some inbounds may be blocked, depending on how the firewall is configured. |
