I already have a v5.3 installed and currently need to engage the application owner to start compiling / test their application on this new version.
Question:-
is there anything / any change should be aware to the application team. all the programs that will be compiled under v5.3 is written in COBOL.
any changes on compiling / code requires before start?
Thanks for any input,
Joe

I didn't see any responses from anyone so I thought I would put something down.
First thing is to change to use the new copybooks. We change them ourselves because we don't compile with the ANSI option. There were some constant names that are no longer there or had their name changed between 5.1 and 5.3.
The other options depend if you are using NATIVE or not. We are not, so we replaced the MQMLIB with MQMTNS.
Remeber to obey the WMQCSTM file to set up the PARAMs & DEFINEs before you try and compile.
On your pathway servers you need to remove the MQDEFAULTPREFIX PARAM and add in the MQNSKVARPATH PARAM.
This may be too late to help you, but it may help others.
