Apologies if this is a common question, but what would happen in the following situation:
An application writes a message to a cluster alias queue. This cluster alias points to a local queue that lives on a partial member. The question is: if that partial member is unavailable (e.g. system crash) where do the messages end up?

It depends if there are other valid targets (another clustered queue to which the messages could be delivered). If there are it will go there, of not it will sit in the cluster xmitq until it can be delivered.
One of the benefits of using clustering is it allows an architecture which prevents the situation you're describing. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
