Hello,
I am a newbie to WMQ.While working with Queue Manager's X and Y suddenly the queue manager X is down but not stopped, what could be the possible reason. And when can a queue manager be in unavailable state(not due to any network issues)?
Also I appreciate any good articles/red papers about WMQ administration.

First place to look for queue manager problems are the error logs. You don't say what platform you're on but they're typically in a folder under the queue manager's files. If you find log files but they're full of unreadable binary information those are the wrong logs; the persistent queue information rather than errors. You're looking for some clearly readable stuff with AMQnnnn messages in it.
The IBM site contains the information centre, all you need to decode the error logs and some useful papers and support pacs. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
