I cant find anything on this in the forum, im surprised.

I want to run MQ 5.3 on a Solaris 10 server, split into zones.
The server has, say 8 physical CPUs.
The zone where MQ is installed has say 4 virtual CPUs allocated to it.
In this case, is my MQ license liability 4 CPUs/licenses?

Thanks!

License questions can only be properly answered by your IBM sales representative.

When V6 has been out for nearly two years and is in production use all over the world.
5.3 will also be going out of support later this year.

Also, is V5.3 supported on Solaris 10 in a zoned configuration?

It used to be the case where all cores on a system needed a license regardless if they were going to be used in an LPAR/Zone that was not running the Server part of WMQ.
There might have been changes so you do need to clarify this with your IBM sales team.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.
