hi all,

Iam having a problem with java application which is unable to connnect to the queuemanager .Though there is srvr connection channel already exiting and the listener is running.my event viewer shows some TCP/IP issues.
The TCP/IP responder program could not be started.

An attempt was made to start an instance of the responder program, but the program was rejected.

The failure could be because either the subsystem has not been started (in this case you should start the subsystem), or there are too many programs waiting (in this case you should try to start the responder program later). The reason code was 0.

and giving this error though iam able to ping the channel.

Channel negotiation failed.

Channel '' between this machine and the remote machine could not be established due to a negotiation failure.

Tell the systems administrator, who should attempt to identify the cause of the channel failure using problem determination techniques. For example, look for FFST files, and examine the error logs on the local and remote systems where there may be messages explaining the cause of failure. More information may be obtained by repeating the operation with tracing enabled.

checked for the FDCs

I notice you're on v5.3 CSD 7. Have you considered upgrading? Not necessarially connected to this problem I admit, but it would eliminate a possible cause.

WinNT error 5 from DosOpen
suggests a problem with a file open.... You might have to reboot the machine...(in order to clear obsolete file descriptors.) or make sure nobody has a queue open in edit mode by going to the file system...

No MQM Function Stack Available

Have done some googling with the probe id where only i can get one reason like username may not be included in the group, but I have checked the mqm group and the user 'setup' is included. I know that there is restriction of max characters to b 12 but i dont think there is restriction on minimum.

Any other reason that could have created this problem plaese suggest,

awaiting your reply.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Gayathri,

I have checked the group the user 'setup' is included in the mqm group , but MUSR_MQADMIN is not included in the administrator group .So should this have caused the problems. But the user 'setup' is included in administrator group.

And one more thing is that the log files are also in japanese characters , so I cannot get anything from that except for the error codes. Can we set this to english.Even the explorer is displaying evrything in japanese. How can we st this to english
and the error codes are AMQ6183 and amq 6119 mq internal errors.

So can you suggest me something

Awiting your reply.

Tahnks in advance.

The log is also time stamped on Tokyo Standard time; look like the queue manager (or the server it's based on) has been set up to be Japanese.

Is the user "setup" a local or domain user? I'd try (and indeed recommend) that MQ runs using a local mqm account for it's services.

Hi Vitor,

Ya as you said the server itself is set to japanese language , which i have checked from the windows registry. But can we change this and before that can you suggest for why we are getting this error like failed to connect to queuemanager.orelse how to start the tcp/ip responder program.WE already rebooted the system. But still no use.
Orelse would reinstallation would helpout , anyhow this is a test server.

Awaiting your reply,

Thanks in advance.

I've already asked if this "setup" user you're using is a local or a domain user, irrespective of what group it's in. You should start all MQ services with a local user.

If it's a test server, then it's an ideal opertunity to upgrade to something more recent and more reliable than CSD07!

Hi vitor,

The user setup is alocal user, not a domain userid.

Even we are able to ping the channel from either side successfully and the channel is also able to be started(both sender and receiver ).

And still we need to continue with the CSD07 as per the clients requirement , because CSD07 is apllied on all the servers, Where evrything woirks fine.

Awaiting your reply,

Thanks in advance.

If it works fine, how come you're getting FDC files......

The last FDC indicates "getNTUserName" as the problem component. So something's funny with the authentication of that user, or WMQ thinks there is. Both the FDCs seem to be rooted in operating system problems so I can only suggest you go through and recheck all the permissions on all the ids in use for access & service.

My personal suspicion is that MQ 5.3.7 is not happy on XP SP 2 for some bizzare reason, but you've already ruled out upgrading. You might want to consider (if no other solution turns up) downgrading onto Win2K / 2003 and see if that gives better results with the MQ level you're working with.

Not exactly a good solution though.

Hi vitor,

Iam finally going for reinstallation .Where do we set the language to english during installation.Pleasse suggest me because this is taking the lang value from OS.So please suggest me.And also suggest wether anything else to be done during preinstallation so that we can solve the previous problem.

And we are also looking for upgrade of the csd to the latest 13, but need some uproval ,which is on process. And hope we dont have any compatibility issues with other servers which are at CSD07.

Awaiting your reply,

Thanks in advance.

There's an option during the install which defaults to the OS language which can be overridden.

Use a local mqm user to do the installation, who is a member of the Administrators group on the box.

I've never heard of any, though I admit I've not run CSD13 with a CSD that old. I've run it with CSD 9 & 13 mixed without issue.
There's an option during the install which defaults to the OS language which can be overridden
Please correct me if iam wrong. We can change the attribute mqplanguage in MQparams.ini file and give the command MQparms.exe MQparams.ini should do that. or ven changing the MQparams.ini file and using the launchpad also does this.

Awaiting your reply.

Thanks in advance.

I would have a look to yout NT event log. WinNT error 5 from DosOpen. means, MQ forwards a message, which it has received from WinNT.

Maybe your disk is full or some files are corrupted?
