Can somebody tell me the default working and installation directories on different platforms of MQ

Moved to a more appropriate forum.

For WMQ V7.1 upwards, the default locations are wherever you care to make them (but I don't know whether that's true for Solaris zones as I don't have any experience of them), but prior to that it's /var/mqm, usr/mqm or /opt/mqm depending on UNIX - the Info Centre will give you more detailed information. For Windows it's always been possible to install in a custom location.

Don't trust your lie'n eyes! Use regedit to see what is configured for the directories.

In WMQ V7.0 and up, you can ask the Qmgr where its files are with:
dspmqinf <QmgrName>
