I have used the IBM supplied Time Zone Update Utility for Java (JTZU) to update files on Solaris boxes for WSMQ.
The documentation says to run the utility as root, but in so doing it created files in the directory /opt/mqm/java/sdk/jre/lib/zi such at EST and CST6CDT, EST5EDT, HST, MST, MST7MDT, PST8PDT and gave all these files owner 'root' group 'root' and permissions '-rw-------' or '600' !
Don't know what other files it might have set with these owner, group and permissions if any?
This could cause access problems ! Anyone experience any problems with this ??
There are indeed may other files besides the ones above that have their owner and group changed to root by this utility when run as root as directed. _________________ "Truth is ... grasping the virtually unconditioned",

Apparently the JTZU team is seeing some issues in this space. One may want to check with them for latest info. _________________ "Truth is ... grasping the virtually unconditioned",
