Hi All,
I would like to know how to check whether the listner is running for a queue manager on Compaq Tru64 UNIX box ?
Thanks in advance.

Telnet to the port the listener is supposed to be using - if the listener responds it's working. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Are you actually trying to diagnose a problem, or just have an interest in listeners? If the former you might get further posting your symptoms in case someone recognises them. If the latter thank you for reassuring me I'm not the only one with a dull & unusual hobby.
You don't say which version of MQ you're using. Check your System Administration guide for what the process is called in your version and ps -ef for it.
Or ask the MQ Administrators what they set it to run as.....
Almost certainly running as mqm. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

And for the record there's no "c" in my name.
I think I'm the only person in the world who leaves it out & am considering a deed poll change to put it in. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Unless Tru64 is like iSeries and has a weird numbering thing going on, your problem is that your MQ is so old it defies description. Put an upgrade at the top of your to-do list.

It probably wouldn't - I think that was introduced in v5.2. Look in the docs that match your prehistoric version; IIRC the listener was the inetd daemon back then. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
