Hi,
I'm having problem with the Eclipse Platform installation in silent mode.
First, I want to say that I searched ALOT on the web, all kind of forums (including this one), the eclipse web site, and I did not found an answer.
It's normally a very simple task and I preformed this hundreds of times for other installation programs.
So here it is:
I need to change the default installation path for the Eclipse platform V3.0 from "C:\Program Files\IBM\Eclipse SDK30\" to "D:\IBM\Eclipse SDK30\".
I tried all sorts of things. Generating a response file, using the SAVEINI and USEINI properties, etc... Nothing works.
I generated a log file using the following command:
msiexec /i "IBM WebSphere Eclipse Platform V3.0.msi" /l*v d:\Inst.log
Now after the installation, I looked inside the log and found some properties: AMQPGMFOLDER and INSTALLDIR.
So I tried a silent install with this command line:
msiexec /i "IBM WebSphere Eclipse Platform V3.0.m
si" AMQPGMFOLDER="D:\IBM\Eclipse SDK30" INSTALLDIR="D:\IBM\Eclipse SDK30" /l*v d
:\TryInst.log /qn
The installation did go well, but in the default path "C:\Program Files\IBM\Eclipse SDK30\" NOT the new one I wanted "D:\IBM\Eclipse SDK30"
Can someone help me with that?
Regards,

xvlouis,
Our installation was provided a fix for this by IBM, by provision of a .dll file and additional information. I suggest you contact IBM directly to request the same.
I have mirrored this reply in the other thread too. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
