Out of support of most platforms? None of the advantages developed for later releases (as detailed in the "What's new" section of their documentation)?

Do you have a specific drive to your question? A particular MQ use for instance> And on what platform are specifically interested?

I am interested to know the disdavantages of MQ v5.2 on NT. I would specifically want to know on things like reliability, etc for this version.

Ok, biggest problem with that combination is that MQ 5.2 went out of support almost 3 years ago so if you get a problem support will be hard to come by. NT goes the same way at the end of this year so you'll have no support for problems in that area either.

I would put it to you that if 5.2's been running all this time it's fairly reliable but I'd hate to have to change anything about the configuration in case it breaks.

Perhaps it's better to say there are no disadvantages to 5.2 if it's running in a stable, unchanging configuration but there are speed and reliability advantages to upgrading. These I would say are compelling if you're describing a production environment.

You start adding new applications or functions to the set up and all bets are off.

Only my 2 cents - conflicting opinions welcomed.
