I'm hoping someone can help me understand why I can't get Workflow 3.6 running on Windows XP. This is the version of DB2 that I have installed:

===============================================
About DB2 Administration Tools Environment
===============================================
DB2 administration tools level:
Product identifier SQL08025
Level identifier 03060106
Level DB2 v8.1.12.99
Build level s060429
PTF WR21368
===============================================
Java development kit (JDK):
Level IBM Corporation 1.4.1
===============================================

When I run the Configuration Utility, errors prior to the completion of the configuration. The FMCQM queue manager and the FMCDB database get created. The FMCBTDB does not get created. The utility generates a dialog box that contains the following information:

FMC33920E Error occurred. See c:\program files\ibm\websphere mq workflow\cfgs\fmc\@fmczbt.log for more information.

When I click the OK button in the dialog box, another dialog box appears with the following warning:

FMC33905E Error while creating Buildtime database FMCBTDB occurred. See the log file c:\program files\ibm \websphere mq workflow\cfgs\log\@fmczbt.log for more information.

When I click the OK button in this dialog box, another dialog box appears asking the following:

FMC33711I Do you want to remove the Runtime database FMCDB? Please make sure the database is not used by other users or configurations remotely!

I select the No button.

The @fmczbt.log file contains the following information:

8/25/2006 10:34:02 AM FMC33112E The database manager has not been started.

The FMCQM not the associated service get installed. If I run the Configuration Utility and do not select the MQ Workflow Buildtime option, the FMCDB, FMCQM, and service get installed. Unfortunately, the service and the queue manager will not start.

Any ideas are welcome.

Thank you.

So if you create a config with no buildtime, just QMgr and Runtime DB everything is OK. Have you tried to logon to the IBM fat client with this config? If you can not, then I would suspect some DB2 issue. If you can, then Try installing a MS Access BTDB instead of a DB2 DB. You can do this is a Separate configuration, so you do not touch your working Runtime Config. If this works, then I would probably open a PMR to find out what the issue is with Buildtime.

For the record, I use MSAccess for all my BT Dbs. I would not recommend this for a Production environemnt, but for Development it works fine.
