Hi,
I was wondering if its possible to install v5 and v6 queue managers on the same machine (in a bindings configuration) and connect to their respective servers. Is it also possible for the v5 or v6 queue manager to participate in the other cluster.
Thanks

MQ v5.n & v6 cannot be installed on the same machine at the same time. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Can I create 2 Queue Managers of v6 and have one of them participate in a v5.n cluster and the other in a v6 cluster?
Thanks

You can mix v5 & v6 queue managers in a cluster, the v5 queue managers can obviously not take advantage of the new attributes of v6 clusters.
You might want to cast your eyes (or the search facility) through the Clustering section of the forum. There's been a couple of posts on mixed clusters which may be of value to you. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Except on z/OS & Tandem
Tandem (2.2.0.1, 51 & 5.3)

By the same token I can install different versions of MQ on the same AIX machine - just not in the same LPAR.. or at least not on the same mount points in the same LPAR and not running at the same time.. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
