I have two queue managers(STAR and OZ) in the Cluster.
STAR queue manger is the repository.
CLUSSDR channel from STAR to OZ is running.
but CLUSSDR channel from OZ to STAR is not running.
This is happening suddenly from last 5 days.
I have control over only STAR queue manager.
I am seeing following error in the MQ logs for TO.OZ CLUSSDR channel
after 20 minutes CLUSSDR channel is running.
--------------------------------------------
AMQ6047: Conversion not supported.
EXPLANATION:
WebSphere MQ is unable to convert string data tagged in CCSID 819 to data in
CCSID 970.
------------------------------------------
But CCSID on the STAR queue manager is 819 and OZ queue manaer CCSID is 1208.
This is very strange to me.
I tried re-set channels, refresh cluster and restart of STAR queue managers also. But still problem persists.
Could you please advice me how to go-about this.
Thanks in advance. |

If you're seeing errors with sender channels, and you've eliminated all possiblities on your side, then you should contact the other side... _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Yes..I am parallely contacting OZ side..
They say that STAR is cluster repository and CLSSDR channel from OZ to STAR is not running..it is in initialization state..they also done re-set, and restart of queue mangers.
I am not understanding why the error AMQ6047 is occuring suddenly?
whether this causes the problem in the CLSSDR channel from OZ to STAR? |

You should check that the sender channel doesn't have CONVERT(YES) specified, which is where I've seen this error coming from. Some passing elf changed it from NO to YES (must have been an elf, all the admins flatly denied changing it ) and even though the queue managers were like yours (819 & 1208) the channel was complaining it couldn't convert it into 923. Why 923? Never got to the bottom of it. Put the channel round the right way and flow was restored.
Preventative action taken involved warning the admins about the dangers of elves tampering with attributes.
Also check with the other end - ensure the queue managers really on 819 & 1208 (those elves get everywhere...) _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
