I am currently wondering if we have the blind leading the blind and would appreciate insight from WMBroker administrators who have experience in installing and configuring WMBroker V6 on both Solaris 10 (SPARC) and Windows boxes.
A newbie to WMBroker has installed V6 on a Solaris 10 (SPARC) box (along with WMQ V6 and ORACLE 10G), this newbie has some UNIX experience, but is very new to WMBroker. A WMBroker administrator came onboard after the installation and configuration was complete. This admin has no UNIX experience; they have 3 years experience with WMBroker V5 on Windows only.
Since the admin knows nothing about the UNIX box and cannot scrutinize the configuration, it looks to me like the possibility exists that we may encounter major issues once we go to production. Are there any settings on the UNIX box that will be a gotcha later on? In my research it looks as though semaphores are no longer an issue with Solaris 10 since allocation is done as needed. Is this true? Are there any thread issues or other concerns?
