I've got an off-the-wall Question.
If multiple Qmgrs are running on a single physical server, is it possible to use the resource manager inside Solaris 9/10 or Windows2003 to control how much resources a single Qmgr will have access to?
Thanks in Advance,

I don't think there is anything avaiable from an MQ point of view. |

I'm speaking of using the existing Resource Management that comes with those OS's. Have you heard of anyone attempting such a thing? |

I think most people only bother with limiting diskspace. And then usually only on Unix and not Windows. It's too hard on Windows to assign each queue manager's data folder to it's own disk (no symlinks, right vennela ).
In terms of limiting memory usages, you'd basically have to do it at a per-process level, but that means you have to set one limit for *all* qmgrs, not different limits for *each* qmgr.
If you have serious concerns that some particular queue manager will use up enough system resources to cause an outage to every other qmgr on the same machine, then that's a darned good reason to put that queue manager on it's own machine! _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Its a darned good idea to only have one QM per box anyway! _________________ Peter Potkay
