All,
I'm curious if companies, generally speaking, allow their employees to use sponsored-mode applications at work?
I've never had a problem using sponsored-mode applications at client-sites but that may not be true for everyone.
Sponsored-mode application is a version of a commercial application that displays an advertisement in the corner. The user gets to use the application for FREE as long as the Ads are displayed. A good example is Eudora, eFax Reader or Adobe Acrobat 7, etc..
eFax Reader and Adobe Acrobat 7 have toolbar Ads (top-right corner) whereas Eudora has a square Ad in the lower-left corner.
I'm interested in knowing if (A) Companies have any restrictions and (B) Do people use these types of application (Am I the only one??).
