Somebody has gone and moved the MQ documentation web page, now all I get is marketing crud instead of PDF manuals. Does anybody know where they've been hidden?

Does somebody in IBM get bored one day and say, "I know, I'll move everything around so nobody can find anything, that'll be fun..."

I hear ya! If anyone can get IBM to stop this practice; not only for MQ, but other products, as well, the world would be eternally greatful!

Looks like a redirect got 'missed' - I've asked to see if one can be put in place that would take you to the v6 manuals from that URL....

Anyway its in my interest for people to actually find the manuals... Next thing is to work out how to get people to read them

But moving the link is the wrong way
  1. The people who don't read the manuals really don't care about a moved/missing link, they weren't going to read them in the first place!!
  2. The only people who do notice are the ones who use the manuals as reference and find them missing when they are needed... Did you want to push them into the first category?
  3. It discourages people trying to browse the IBM site because it's completely useless to bookmark any place (Like here are the manuals I'm going to be needing if I don't know how to do it) and why should I spend endless hours searching for something that's going to be moved tomorrow anyways...

For the website and it's organization / material tree 4 initials KISS. For god's sake apply them(use a scottish accent when reading this last sentence...)

Enjoy

Yeah, but that ts link has been broken for at least two years.

Also, I was making a bit of a joke.

As fjb_saper notes, the problem is that I had bookmarked the link to the manuals:

http://www-306.ibm.com/software/integration/mqfamily/library/manualsa/

and "somebody" decided that they would stick marketing crap here instead (it has links to "movies" so you watch MQ in action, transforming peoples lives, etc).

The IBM web-site is notorious for shifting things about, hard-coding server numbers, and being just generally unavailable. For the worlds' largest computer company it's certainly no advert for its' products. And I got the link to the out-of-date location from a version six README file - hardly an old legacy application!
