I think they do come with the runtime.

I'm not aware of a custom installation option specifically for these.

The ConfigMgrProxy API is fully documented (as far as I know) in the online info center.

As Jeff says, the CMP is installed as part of the runtime - specifically, the config component. However, the broker runtime is not required to develop and run Config Manager Proxy applications. See http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmbhelp/v6r0m0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/ae33102_.htm for more information.

i am kinda confused, i can have CMP appliations on servers where there is no configuration manager or broker? or i can only have the CMP applications/samples running on the configuration manager box(unix in my case).

if i can run it on a different machine, do i just need a copy of the configuration managerproxy.jar?
