I also installed jdk1.5.0_08 under /opt, but it doesn't help much

Is that going to work?

WebSphere MQ for Solaris, V5.3 runs on all Sun SPARC and Sun UltraSPARC desktop and server systems, supported by the appropriate release of the Solaris operating environment, as shown in “Prerequisite software” on page 2. |
Isn't that an INTEL based Solaris? Are you sure MQ will work on that? _________________ -wayne |

About libjava.so: It complains about the file is missing, so i think, when i have that file it will work.
About INTEL base: after Solaris-install, everything working fine, i can do with "normal" Unix commands etc. So i think it is a intel base solaris.
Please do correct me if i am wrong.
Thnx for your answer.

Yes, I understand that you have an INTEL based Solairs, but I don't think you have an INTEL based MQ... the last MQ I can find that ran on Intel based Solaris is v5.1:
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006292
In any case, I might be wrong ... search here for "mqlicense" to find a way to circumvent your problem so you can try the install..... _________________ -wayne |

You are correct. MQ is not supplied to run on Intel based Solaris (I think it is called Sun OS) |

Hi,
I build a PC server that runs Solaris 10 and WMQ v6.0.1 (all 64-bit). You just need the right hardware.
i.e.
- Tyan Tomcat K8E S2865G2NR
- AMD Opteron 148 Processor (2.2Ghz)
- Generic 1GB PC3200 DDR 400
- Maxtor DiamondMax 10 200 GB - SATA-150 - 7200 rpm
- Sony DVD 16X
- Sony 1.44M floppy drive
- CP-201 ATX mid case & 400W Generic Power supply
It runs Solaris 10 x86 64-bit and WMQ v6.0.1 x86 64-bit.

Thanks all,
I will check my laptop... but now i have another problem with starting qmgr on Solaris it self (SunOS 5. . On the Sun MQ 5.3 CSD11 is installed together with Siebel. Create qmgr isn't give any problem but when i try to start the qmgr (strmqm -c QMGR) I got this error:
AMQ5615: Default objects cannot be created: CompCode = 2 Reason = 2059.
I check the mq processes there are 3 processes started
amqzllp0 -mQMGR
amqharmx QMGR /var/mqm
amqhasmx QMGR /var/mqm
I did change the /etc/system but it seems it doesn't help much |

Roger is right on ... It has to be a 64 bit architecture machine .... duh ..
strmqm -c should create any missing default objects .. but from the process list you have mentioned , it is missing key master process amqzxma .... look into your /var/mqm/errors ... that should help you to locate the problem or post them in the forum ..
Most of the times default objects missing problem happens because of filesystem/permission issues .. check them out too ..

It also has to be v6 - and DTran continues to try to use v5.3. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

libjava.so should be in lap/jre/lib/sparc on the install media, if it is not found there are several possiblilties:
1. You have incomplete or corrupt install media.
2. The libjava.so at that location is not compatible with your system
Please post the output from 'uname -a' and 'isalist' - from that we will be able to confirm whether Websphere MQ 5.3 is supported on your system. _________________ Philip Morten
