Hi all,
We're running into a quirk with our MQ event monitoring setup. We've got queue depth high events enabled at threshold 5, and depth low events disabled since we're not interested in those (we're just leaving the threshold at the default - 20 usually). But if the depth goes through the high threshold and then up past the low threshold (remember, these are 'reversed') a depth low event is being generated when the depth goes down through the low threshold, even thought QDPLOEV is disabled.
The other events are generated correctly - we're getting depth high alerts as we'd expect.
I've seen this on OS/390 and HP-UX queue managers. Is this an MQ quirk we should just deal with? Thanks for any thoughts.
Regards,

Hi Andrew,
That's the way it works I'm afraid. What is even more silly is that, by default, QDEPTHHI event reporting is NOT enabled, until you hit a queue full, then it is!
Another annoying thing is that you can get in a situation, when you get past QDEPTHHI and QDEPTHLO event is enabled, that you can go back through the QDEPTHHI mark again, and no event is reported as the event is turned off!
