Seeing the size of the v6.0, I hesitate to upgrade my already working v5.1 installation.

What's the major improvement of such an upgrade?

Does it worth the trouble?

I do not consider it useful to address a v6 broker from a v5.1 toolkit.

WMB Toolkit v6 is built on top of RAD v6. This is why the download is larger than it had been.

Are you just hesitant in upgrading the toolkit, or the runtime as well?

The improvements between v5.x and v6 are numerous (for both the runtime and the toolkit). If you want to take advantage of v6 function (e.g. Java compute nodes) then you need the v6 toolkit.
