Can i configure on my laptop buildtime in my localsystem with server which is located on AIX box? I mean while configuring, can i use the channeltab at AiX box? If not, how can i access the server located at AIX box aswellas buildtime?
Or can i use both my local server(In my Laptop) and also AIX box server at a time?
Replies are appreciated. |

Simply create a Buildtime only config on your box that has the proper System, Group and QueueManager info for your AIX box. I have at least 15 Buildtime only configs that I use. If you use MSAccess it takes less than a minute to build a new BT config, and I have never found any issues with an Access BT. _________________ John McDonald

Thanks for your reply..but i didnt get u exactly the purpose of MSAccess here. Generally u willnot be having any buildtime on AIX right.. I just want to access from my laptop the AIX box server where we deploy all fdls. Is that possible? eventhough i have workflow server for windows installed on my laptop?
I know we can config different buildtimes with different configuration names. |

It is not clear to me what you are asking.... Have you ever read the install guide? _________________ John McDonald

Hi
There are two things you should be aware of.
1. Workflow server always talks to the runtime database. It will NEVER care about your buildtime or the buildtime database or how you develop .
2. Buildtime GUI always talks to the buildtime DB. It will NEVER care about where the runtime database is or where the workflow server is etc.
The only relation between the two is through FDLs. After you are done with buildtime, you export an FDL and then import the FDL into runtime.
Now: Your buildtime GUI tool obviously cannot talk to the runtime database (which you are saying is on AIX server). But if you have a centralised buildtime DB that is on an AIX server then you can point that database to your buildtime. If thatr is the case let me know and I'll help you find the instructions on how to do that.
Also reading the installation guide on 2-tier 3-tier architectures is a good idea. |
