Hi All,

I am trying to put test messages in a local queue using RFHUTIL. However I am not able to change the priority of the messages.

For eg: If I want to set the priority of a particular message as 5, I tried setting the Priority field in MQMD as 5. But the message lands up in the queue with the value 0 for Priority.

I tried sending the message using an Alias Queue having default priority value set to 5. But again the same result.

However using amqsput and the alias queue the message goes as priority 5.

Can any one guide me as to how the Priority settings work for RFHUTIL?

Hi Elvis,

I am using v 3.5.1 Build 149

Strange observation .... don't you think??? Stupid question really ... but have you seen that the message put on the local queue (after you have set the priority value) has the Message Priority value set to the value you specified in the RFHUTIL. I mean in WMQ explorer -> Msg Browser --> Properties for Message pane the value for Message Priority.

I find the value to be 0 in my case irrespective of the value provided in RFHUTIL.

Hi cadenza,

The version i'm using is 4.0.4 Build 178.

I guess you should update the tool and try.

And I hope you are looking at the correct place for the priority....their is a queue priority also just confirming.

Regards.
