Hi,
We are migrating to WBIMB5 and are trying to find a way to import several projects all at once into the toolkit.
I've noticed that when using mqsicreatebar in an empty workspace, a side-effect is that all the messageset and messageflow projects - for which the bar is created - are imported into the toolkit. Can we use these projects to continue developing or should we manually import the projects?
Thanks, Leonie |

If you are migrating, both mqsimigratemsgflows and mqsimigratemsgsets automatically add the newly created projects to the workspace. |

Thanks Shanson, we will use mqsimigrate* during our migrating process. Let me explain a bit more why i asked the question about mqsicreatebar: After the migration to WBIMB5 we are going to use Visual SourceSafe (and the VSS plugin) as version control tool.
I know we can use Team Project Set files to import projects from VSS into the toolkit, but that only seems to work for "the latest version" of a project.
If we want to import a particular version (like the version which is on our productive system) we have to use VSS-explorer to export the projects to the file-system. Then of course we can manually import them into the toolkit, but it would be easier (and less changes on mistakes) if "a utility" does the import of the messageflow and messageset projects. So that is why i asked about mqsicreatebar, and if we can use this utility to import several projects all at once into the toolkit. |

I'm surprised at the restriction on VSS. I use CVS with WMB toolkit and I am able to check out any level of a project that has been formally marked with a 'version'. |

Using the VSS-plugin it is also possible to check out a "labeled" (or in CVS-terms "tagged") version of a project, although it doesn't support setting the label which is a bit strange... So this works fine if you already have the projects in your toolkit (and use VSS-explorer to set the labels). But since we have a team of developers this is not always the case.
The Team Project Set file for CVS supports imports/exports of tagged versions. However, the project set file for VSS doesn't seem to support imports/exports of labeled versions of a project. |
