Hi
I want to install DB2 8.1 and Message Broker 5.0 on my solaris 9 box ...
I am very new to DB2 and MB concepts ..could you please guide me about installation steps ( for DB2 , MB ) and configurination(creating broker DB , Config Mgr DB , Connection etc) of the same in solaris environment.

Hi Mensch,
This will be a very long procedure to teach you online....you would do better with the Installation pdf....it has the step by step process for Solaris installation.
Remember that the configMgr and tookit has to installed on a windows system, so start with that, GUI will be easier to install...
You'll get help when you get stuck, as you'll find many posts discussing the problems you face....

Thank you very much for ur prompt reply ...
I have to create image of my existing sevrer which contains MQ Series, DB2 and Message broker running on it .
Both these servers are on Solaris 9 .
Cant we create config mgr on Solaris ?
If i have to create config mgr separately on windows How am i supposed to Connect broker and Qmanager on solaris machine with Config mgr on windows machine??
Also what about ODBC ( Broker DB and Config DB)

Only with MB v6, not with MB v5 .... please read the documentation on how to do these things... there are simply too many steps for us to describe it here....

You are getting into the tool without having read even the minimal or manuals...
Atleast, read the Installation procedure and install step by step....

Thank you very much for your replies
I could install WBIMB 5.0 and DB28.1 on solaris succesfully after going through installation guide ..
Now I am stuck in configuration ..Could you please guide me creating Broker , config mgr , run time database and connections on solaris 9.0?
