When I am trying to configure the broker, it is saying the password is too short. I changed it to a big and as cryptic. but still the same error. what password it is looking for. I am following an example given with the tool and everything is fine except the configuration.
what could be done? |

Are you executing a mqsicreatebroker command? Can you paste the exact command and its output here? _________________ -wayne |

No. I am not using any command. When I go Welcome page, there is one sample consist of 5 steps(by one click it automatically created queues and etc ). one of the stpes is to configure the broker. in this step, it is saying password is too short for the user(skotha). I changed the password with 13 chts. |

Is the V5? ... are you referring to the "WebSphere Business Integration Message Broker Getting Started Wizard"... the "Message Broker Services User Account" ... and did you select "New User Account" or "Existing User Account" ?
If its a new user, then you have to abide by whatever password rules have been set on that machine... if its an existing user, then you just give that user's real password.
Does the message really say its too short, or does it say that it doesn't abide by the password rules? Can you retype the EXACT message you get? _________________ -wayne |

What FixPack of version 5 have you applied, before attempting to run the default configuration wizard? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

pachyderm,
WBIMB v5 needs at least one fixpac installed before creating any default configuration.
Even after that you may get some problems while using default configuration wizard.
Search for 'default configuration wizard' in this forum, and you will get some more discussion... _________________ Vivek

Hi,
Fix packs are always cumulative, so in general you should pick the most recent unless you have a good reason not to. _________________ MGK
