Is there a way to use of aliases on the queues. Right now we have a situation where we have multiple queues set up for each transaction/process that an application is processing.Basically, we’d like to determine whether it makes sense to create a different queue for each transaction and if so, can we have all these queues being virtual queues that point to the same underlying queue.
Could you please let me know?
Any help is deeply appreciated.
Thanks in advance

In fact, there is such a thing as an "alias queue", which can be created just like a "local queue", using the same tools but with different attributes (including the "base" queue, which is what the alias queue points to).
Also, if you are using JMS and storing definitions in JNDI, then you can change the destination queue that the JNDI points to without changing the name the application uses at all. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
