Hi,
The Pub/Sub manual for WMB v6 says:
Quote: |
To connect brokers in a collective, do the following:
1. Define the WebSphere MQ channels between the queue managers of each pair of the brokers in the collective; use the standard WebSphere MQ facilities (for example, WebSphere MQ Explorer).
2. Assign the brokers as members of the collective using the Broker Topology editor in the workbench; they do not have to be connected together using the connect function.
|
So which type of MQ channels need to be created? Any specs regarding this? Not sure, if there are already any posts re this topic in this forum. _________________ Vivek

Try standard sender/receiver pairs (in both directions) so that messages from QMGR1 and be sent to QMGR2 and messages from QMGR2 can be sent to QMGR1.
Make sure you have XMITQs defined using the name of the remote qmgr name (QMGR1 rather than QMGR1.XMITQ) or that you have qmgr aliases that resolve to the correct XMITQ. _________________ Regards

Scott,
Thanks for the suggestion.
Do you mean to say that I have to follow the same steps as are there for Remote Queue Intercommunication? Should the names of the channels be same?

Hi,
A collective is (pretty much) just a UI abstraction of a totally connected set of pub/sub brokers; you just need to make sure sure that each broker's queue manager can access each other broker's queue manager.
So yes, this is just standard remote queue communication - set it up like you would any other MQ network.
Cheers
