Hi All

I am working on WBIMB 5.0.

When I open it now, it says 'Error Occured while creating this view' when I try to go to Application Development Perspective.

I can open the Broker Admin Perspective.

It is asking for the Merant - Dimensions password when I open the toolkit. It used to work fine until like an hour ago when suddenly it crashed and gave this error.

Does this mean I have to reinstall the toolkit.

Please let me know where to look for error so I can post them here.

Plz help

Open a new workspace and see what happens.

Or delete the .metadata directory from your current workspace.

I deleted the metadata and then reopened toolkit and now its working.

thanks Jeff I would have wasted a lot of time if you hadnt replied.

Any ideas on why this would happen though?

Because you opened a view that required the Merant-Dimensions password and then something died and left that view open in the workspace.

You will have to reimport all your projects.

You should also be careful opening whatever view you had open that needs the Merant-Dimensions password - and if it crashes again, then look at the .log file in .metadata to see if there's information there. And also look in the plugin and feature folders for the plugin/feature that gives you that view to see if it has another log file in there. So you can troubleshoot without having to destroy your metadata directory again.
