Hi,
I have a situation wherein we have 2 qmgrs QM1 & QM2 in a cluster. QM1 has queues Q1 & Q2 and QM2 has Q3 & Q4.
We have an application running on QM3 acessing Q1 & Q2 and another application on QM4 accessing Q3 & Q4. I dont want queues Q3 & Q4 visible to QM3 and likewise Q1 & Q2 visible to QM4. Since Qs are cluster queues, i cannot set mqaut .
(this is part of a bigger architecture, where in we have n clusters and n queues).
I know that the arch should be; QM1 and QM2 in different cluster. But is there any other way ? idea is to stick to only big cluster.
We are running MQ V5.3

Thanks,

Whats wrong with doing it the right way? Q1 Q2 and QM3 in one cluster and Q3 Q4 and QM4 in a second?

You could define aliases local on QM3 and QM4 which point to the queues Q1/Q2 and Q3/Q4 respectively. Then you are able to use setmqaut on the local aliases. If the applications on QM3 and QM4 have no permissions on the queue SYSTEM.CLUSTER.TRANSMIT.QUEUE they should not be able, to see cluster queues.
