Is it possible to remove existing clusters from the UI in the Websphere MQ Explorer 6.0?
Can someone point out which directory is the cluster listing located so I can delete it because I could not find it myself?
Thanks in advance. |

Under "Queue Manager Clusters", right click on the qmgr you want to remove, issue "suspend" and then "remove from cluster" _________________ -wayne |

That will actually remove the qm from the cluster. And that's probably not what SilentWind wants.
It won't remove the cluster from the UI view.
Which I don't think is possible to do, currently. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Sorry Jeff.... I just did it, it removes the TO.xxx cluster channels and removes it from the UI. Are you sure you meant V6? _________________ -wayne |

I did mean v6.
I don't think it's possible to remove a cluster from the view, without removing the cluster itself or removing a qmgr from the cluster.
That is, the equivalent of the "Hide Qmgr" in the v5 MMC (and maybe in the new v6 - I don't have any remote qmgrs to test with...).
Am I wrong? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

ok ok...I see ... no, you can remove it from the cluster the way I said, which also removes it from the view... _________________ -wayne |

From the perspective of "If you can't cut off a finger, then cut off an arm...", one can move the com.ibm.explorer.clusterplugin.* out of <MQ_Install_Root>/eclipse/plugins... (You'll absolutely regret deleteing these, so just move them somewhere else).
Then the entire cluster folder doesn't show up, and presumably no cluster commands can be performed.
But... I'd rather learn to ignore the folder, myself. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Yes, jeff you are right. The problem stems from I previously had a remote qmgr connected to a local qmgr. I created a cluster for them. After that, I removed the local and remote from the local UI, while the cluster in the local UI is removed, but the remote UI still contains the cluster name, with a ! on it.
It is just a UI problem to me, but it irritates me as I have two "ghost" UI floating about. So I guess it cant be solved.
Thanks! |
