Hello,
Happy and prosperous new year to you all:)

I have a question on the validity of installation of MQSeries V5.2.1 with CSD05 on Win2K3 server (This is a back up system for the currently running primary system with win 2000...I know that the MQ version is out dated but that is the requirement of the client). I tried to install the same on the specified server and was successful in doing so. But now when I am trying to create a QManager it is not responding(I am doing it from the explorer and the mmc is still showing creating Queue Manager for the last 1 hour.). I tried the same binaries on Win2K server and it is working fine. I was able to create the QM and other objects. Could any one tell me why is this happening? Any fix for it? All your replies will be apreciated.

Regards,
Bijish

If this is going to work at all, it will only work with the last CSD of 5.2.

It should be clear to the customer that putting in a new installation is a good time to test a new CSD level - at a minimum.

If the plan is to test one thing at a time... then test the newer CSD on the older OS, and then test the newer OS.

Jeff we are not just talking about CSD here.
He is referring to MQ 5.2.1 ??

If the intent is really to test one thing at a time, move to the newer OS and move to the latest version (5.3 CSD11) or (6.0 RP1) ! Why in this order ? You might need the newer OS to support the newer version of MQ.

Enjoy

Yes... I did actually read that...

I was attempting to give the best advice that stayed as close to the completely ridiculous situation as possible.

The best advice overall is, as you said, move to 5.3 or v6.
