All,

I'm trying to upgrade from MQ 5.2 to MQ 5.3 on Windows terminal server. I had connected to the server using Remote Desktop connection and IBM MQ service is stopped.

During installation, i get alert "Performance Monitor" is using MQ Files and Later Setup is aborted. Can you let me know, if we can upgrade MQ on terminal server using Remote Desktop Connection.

Regards
KK

Did you consider stopping the performance monitoring service?

This should work for you, though it is stated for CSD ,

First, go to Windows Services and set the WebSphere MQ Service to manual start, and reboot the machine. Then apply the CSD. Go to Windows Services again and set the WebSphere MQ Service back to automatic start.
If this does not clear the problem, an external process has a lock on one of the WebSphere MQ files. Download the utility ProcessExplorer from www.sysinternals.com and execute it. Select Search from the menu and search for MQ. This will identify the process that has one of the WebSphere MQ files locked. Terminate the process and apply the CSD.
