Can I use the http request node to send a regular http request to a web server and receive the reply back. For example currently there is an internal web server which we can inquire on order status by providing an order number. Can I use a httprequest node to automate the process ? All the decriptions regarding the http node refers to web services. A regular http request will not contain the soap rlated data such as the hreader. WIll that work ? |

Hi,
As long as your application expects regular HTTP headers, and you can format the payload (body) to be in the format your app expects (xml or whatever) then this will work fine. I know the docs are Web Services biased, but the nodes are called the HTTP* nodes because they are HTTP based and although they allow you to talk to Web Services, they do not require it. They can talk to any HTTP enabled application.
