I've read "Using Foreign JMS Providers with Weblogic Server" and successfully sent to / read messages from my MQ infrastructure using the file system jndi and also the start-up class approach.
What are people's options on the pros and cons these two approaches? |

Hi,

Don't. It is not worth the pain. If you have a typo in bindings file or or simple want to switch a parameter, you have to go through great hoops. i.e. Rip apart the EAR or WAR file, find the bindings file, update it then find someone to repackage it.
Remember, 99% of MQ Admins do NOT have WebLogic installed on their PCs. Therefore, keep property files, binding files, etc. EXTERNAL to your EAR / WAR file.

btw, in your installation - weblogic and mqseries work on same machine or not?
In my case weblogic is local and mqseries is remote, i have
javax.jms.JMSSecurityException: MQJMS2013: for MQQueueManager used incorrect authentication credentials.
What's wrong in my configuration?
(more i describe in dedicated topic http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=24900&highlight=weblogic

preich,
I was going to post a response to your query but after reading your duplicate posting (how times did you post it - 5, 10, etc..), you've really pissed me off.
In the future, if you want FREE help at mqseries.net then make ONE CLEAR AND CONSISE POSTING to the relevant forum and WAIT a reasonable amount of time for someone to answer.
Otherwise, hire a BEA consultant for $300+ per hour for your quick answer.
