I have installed WMQ V6 on a 'test' Linux System running RHEL V4. Using the QMGRS via the command line is fine but when I try to run the new eclipse based MQExplorer, I get the following message at startup.
# /opt/mqm/ies30/eclipse/eclipse
Failed to load MQJBND! - and we are a server box!
Simple: pluginDisabled notification received - com.ibm.mq.explorer.sample.simple
The Eclipse app startus and actually detects the QMGR, displays that it is running but, that it is "Disconected". And thats it. I can't connect to the QMGR
Has anyone else tried to get V6 running on RHEL4. As far as I can see, all the Linux documentation relates to using a 2.4 kernel while 2.6 uses a 2.6.x kernel but I don't think that this is the problem as I can create a QMGR etc from the command line and do not need to use the LD_ASSUME_KERNEL work around that V5.3 needed,
I suppose my next step is to try to acces the QMGR from an XP System using MQExplorer on that system but I'll need to build one first as all my current systems need to keep running WMQ 5.3. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

Here is the list of the RPM's I Installed
[root@rhel4 ~]# rpm -qa | grep -i mq
MQSeriesIES30-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesConfig-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesSamples-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesHelpSys-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesJava-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesClient-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesFTA-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesMan-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesSDK-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesTXClient-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesInfoCen-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesRuntime-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesKeyMan-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesServer-6.0.0-0
[root@rhel4 ~]#
As you can see WMQ Java Support is installed. Everything is OOTB.
The current kernel is 2.6.9 (As released with RHEL)
Slightly Off topic here, I built on the same System a Fedora Core4 system. When I run that I can't use and WMQ commands from the command line. This is running kernel 2.6.12. However when I apply the kernel work around as used for WMQ 5.3 I can use all the WMQ Command line commands.
( $ export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.19 )
Back to main topic, I tried running the MQExplorer with LD_A... set. No change.
IMHO, there are still some threading issues with WMQ & 2.6 kernels but I am mystified about the MQExplorer problem |

Are the mq jars on your classpath when you start the Eclipse MQ GUI ?
Is your LD_LIB.... set ?

I checked the settings of the LD_ and one was actually incorrect. A silly typo on my part due to the differences in the Java JRE that was installed on the system I copied the .bashrc script from.
So, now the Explorer does actually connect to the QMGR.
However, I still get the following message when eclipse is started.
Simple: pluginDisabled notification received - com.ibm.mq.explorer.sample.simple
What does this mean and does it actually matter? (what does this plugin do?) |
