In certain circumstances, and unfortunately I cannot tell you when as our Unix Admin people does this adhoc while we're testing, we get the following error when a failover occurs;
| Host Name :- (AIX 5.2)
| PIDS :- 5724B4101
| LVLS :- 530.8 CSD08
| Product Long Name :- WebSphere MQ for AIX
| Vendor :- IBM
| Probe Id :- XC338001
| Application Name :- MQM
| Component :- xehAsySignalHandler
| Build Date :- Sep 21 2004
| CMVC level :- p530-08-L040921
| Build Type :- IKAP - (Production)
| UserID :- 00018304 (mqm)
| Program Name :- amqzfuma
| Process :- 00999508
| Thread :- 00000002
| Major Errorcode :- xecE_W_UNEXPECTED_ASYNC_SIGNAL
| Minor Errorcode :- OK
| Probe Type :- MSGAMQ6209
| Probe Severity :- 3
| Probe Description :- AMQ6109: An internal WebSphere MQ error has occurred.
| FDCSequenceNumber :- 0
| Arith1 :- 15 f
| Arith2 :- 999508 f4054
| Comment1 :- SIGTERM
It looks to me as an abrupt ending to MQ processes occur and the software cannot quite handle it.
Could someone confirm my suspicions or tell me exactly what the problem could be? |

The FFST indicates that some process has sent a SIGTERM signal (kill -15 PID) to a WMQ process, and the signal has been ignored.
The WMQ process has not ended, and it can handle it. There is no problem in WMQ. _________________ MQSeries.net helps those who help themselves.. |

Nigel said that it is not a problem.
Somone attempted to terminate an MQ process improperly, and MQ ignored that request.
Likely, your Unix admin tried to kill -15 the queue manager or something, instead of running the normal shutdown scripts - perhaps in an attempt to simulate a failure.
Now, the failover that is occuring may in fact be because of an MQ error. But it's not the one indicated in the FFST that you posted. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
