I've had some issues getting 5.3 installed on SUSE SLES9 with the 2.6 kernel and managed to finally get it installed and running.

I created the /tmp/mqseries/mq_license/license/status.dat and set the LD_ASSUME_KERNEL to 2.4 in order to get it to operate.

However my question is, does IBM themselves actually support running MQ 5.3 on the 2.6 kernel, or are they only intending on supporting MQ v6 on 2.6? I've done a lot of digging on their webpage but been unable to come up with a clear answer.

I think the kernel support levels are usually listed as "and higher".

This is what I've found on their website:
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/integration/wmq/requirements/index4.html

It mentions support for SLES 9 which I believe is a default 2.6 kernel. A little grey though.
