Hi,
I tried to install workflow server components along with the runtime database on the AIX machine (aix 5.3). I have installed wmq 5.3 with csd8, db2 8.2 with fix pack 9 and workflow 3.5.

The workflow was successfully installed (I have not installed the default configuration)

I tried to create a configuration and that was successful too. But, i was unable to start the server components as i was getting a fmcsqlexception. I found in one of the links i searched in the net to re-install mq workflow and then add the fix pack 9 on the database as the mw workflow may over write some of the database RTEs. Now, when i try to use fmczutil to delete the configuration i have created, its not listing the delete option at all.

Here is the snippet of the output of the command run.
Code:
$ fmczutil
   FMC33201I Configuration Commands Menu:
     l ... List
     s ... Select
     x ... Exit Configuration Commands Menu
x
$ id
uid=204(fmc) gid=207(fmcgrp) groups=0(system),1(staff),203(mqm),102(db2grp1),103(db2fgrp1)
$

Could you guys give me pointers on where have i gone wrong and what steps i need to take in order to successfully configure and start the servers.

Thanks and Regards,
Supreeth

You have to be root to delete/create the configuration.

Hi venny,
Thanks for the help. Is the behavior in unix flavour different from the behavior in the windows. This is because if i run fmczutil as user "fmc" in windows, i am getting a list, which contains the create option.
Code:

C:\WINDOWS>fmczutil
   FMC33201I Configuration Commands Menu:
     l ... List
     s ... Select
     c ... Create
     x ... Exit Configuration Commands Menu
x

C:\WINDOWS>set user
USERDOMAIN=SUPREETH
USERNAME=fmc
USERPROFILE=C:\Documents and Settings\fmc

C:\WINDOWS>

user fmc belongs to only "mqm" group and the description for the user is "MQWF Unprivileged Operations Account (required)"

I am a bit surprised with this behavior.

Well, i reinstalled DB2 and workflow again. The configuration succeeded and also the servers are up. I think the problem was i had not tun the db2 update command "db2iupdt" after applying the fix pack. Now, everything is fine.

Thanx n Regards,
Supreeth

I have not messed with Windows security either with MQ or Workflow.
