Hello!
I'm installing MQSeries 5.3 (I will apply Fix Pack 10 when done) on a Fedora
Core 2 machine (I've made sure to set LD_ASSUME_KERNEL appropriately). I
need SSL support so I've installed
gsk6bas-6.0-3.33.i386.rpm. Everything is going ok but when I install
MQSeriesKeyMan-5.3.0-1.i386.rpm it does install but complains that it cannot
find /usr/local/ibm/gsk6/classes/jre/lib/ext/ibmjlog.jar:
cp: cannot stat `/usr/local/ibm/gsk6/classes/jre/lib/ext/ibmjlog.jar': No
such file or directory
chown: getting attributes of `/opt/mqm/ssl/jre/lib/ext/ibmjlog.jar': No such
file or directory
I can't find this file anywhere. I get the impression that this is part of
the DB2 driver and/or the IBM Java SDK so I installed
IBMJava2-142-ia32-SDK-1.4.2-1.0.i386.rpm on my Linux box and DB2 on a
Windows machine but I still haven't got it.
Do I need it? Where can I get it if so?
Thanks

Ian, I have v6 on FC3 (so I can't look directly), but I have the v5.3 install rpm here, so if I do a:
rpm -q -p gsk6bas-6.0.33.i386.rpm --filesbypkg | grep ibmjlog
I see an entry for ibmjlog.jar in that directory. Are you sure that rpm installed okay?
(try a rpm -qa | grep gsk) ... -wayne |

Hi Wayne,
thanks for the pointer. I think there could have been something wrong with that RPM then. I tried some other versions:
gsk6bas-6.0-4.37.i386.rpm
gsk6bas-6.0-5.43.i386.rpm
gsk6bas-6.0-5.44.i386.rpm
gsk6bas-6.0-5.45.i386.rpm
with the same RPM query but bizarrely none of them contains the file either! I got them all from the IBM site (which is hands down the most difficult site to find anything on that I have ever seen). I'm going to try to find gsk6bas-6.0.33.i386.rpm again, unless you know where I could get it?

D'OH. Ok, I went over everything and my gsk6bas-6.0-3.33.i386.rpm was corrupted (rpm didn't see it as a valid package or package manifest). I remembered that's why I went for a later version in the first place. Sorry.
I got a reply in the IBM newsgroup from a guy who does the packaging in IBM and he says that ibmjlog.jar was included with the gsk6bas that shipped with the GA level of WebSphere MQ 5.3 but was dropped from later levels. Fix Pack 4 and later only copy the file (I assume it searches the machine for it) if it exists in the gsk6bas package and do nothing if it is not there.
I found the WMQ 5.3 trial installation files on the IBM site and just took the gsk6bas-6.0-3.33.i386.rpm from it. Installed that, got ibmjlog.jar and ibmjsse.jar (which is also missing from later gsk6bas versions) copied those aside, uninstalled 6.0-3.33, installed 6.0-5.45, copied the two files into /usr/local/ibm/gsk6/classes/jre/lib/ext, applied FP10 and everything seems to be ok. Now for the configuration.
