Hi there,

I am newbie to MQSeries. I just joined this group. I have a Question on installation. At first i installed Websphere MQSeries v5.3 on windows XP professional.i kept both the installation directory and Working directory same. Then i uninstalled it and again installed it (the same version). This time i kept the installation dir and working dir, log files in different directory(i.e installation files in C drive and working dir and log file in E drive). The old QMs that i created havent got associated with the new installations.

Could you guys tell me what i got to do to associate my Old QMs to the Websphere MQ explorer. Do i have to change any registry files. when i looked at the folders it shows the Queue Manager files in the C: drive. what all files do i need to copy, and do i need to make any changes to the reg files.
thanking you guys in advance,
any help will be appreciated,
sandiksk

Hallo,

No guarantee this works!

1. Create a queue manager with the same name as the old was
2. Make sure it is stopped
3. Take your old queue manager directory and overwrite the newly created one for the according queue manager
4. Try to start it

If you don't have the old queue manager directories available, I do not think there is a way to do what you try to do.

For the future please check out Support Pack MS03 (save queue manager).

hope this helps

Sebastian
