This is my first post so please forgive me if I've asked this question in the wrong forum.
I am calling a static Java method from ESQL in a message flow, however the Java I'm calling requires version JRE 1.4 or higher to execute properly. How can I, under windows, either upgrade or replace the default JRE (1.3.1) that ships with the message brokers (located in C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere Business Integration Message Brokers\jre)? I'm running version 5.3 of MQ w/ CSD 10 and version 5.01 of the brokers with CSD 5. I've tried adding the 1.4.2 JRE in the "Installed JREs" option panel under the message broker toolkit, but that had no effect... seems to be that option is only used by the toolkit when developing/compiling Java classes. Any help would be extremely appreciated. |

I think you can't do this. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Unfortunately, it appears your broker is running on a Windows platform. Were it AIX, you could migrate to JRE 1.4.2

Support for JRE 1.4
Requires Broker FixPack 5 or later.
The WebSphere MQ Real-time Transport is not currently supported with JRE 1.4.
On AIX, the Broker automatically looks for the JRE in the directory /usr/java131. For the Broker to use JRE 1.4, rename the java131 directory and replace this directory with a soft link to the JRE 1.4 installation.
For example, "ln -s /usr/java14 /usr/java131". |

You are both correct, this was verified this morning by IBM. They are working to support newer JRE versions under windows, but it's at least a month away. Thanks for the help! |
