Hi there,
I was just wondering, is there any limit on number of users logged in/ sessions in Workflow. Is it system dependent or any parameter needs to be set. Also, what happens when it reach the threshold.

Any inputs are appreciated.

Thanks,
-Mahesh

Mahesh:

There is NO threshold specified in MQWF. The number of users you can support will be based on the system.

Logged-on users do add a load to the system. If you have never had a look at support pack WP01, I would take a look at that, and you will see the section in the spreadsheet that addresses logged on users.

Hi,

the number of users / sessions is not limited by MQ Workflow.

Thanks guys,
We use the WP01 for hardware estimation. I was kind of sure, it is system dependent. But, I wanted to take the experts opinion.
Just for knowledge, how the system behaves, when it reaches session threshold? Does WF crash or so?

Thanks,
-Mahesh

What do you mean threshold?
In the earlier posts both of them have mentioned that there is no threshold.

What is your number of users?
Number of users in runtime
Number of concurrent users
No of expected work items for each users
How many workflow servers

Sorry about being vague.
As we know it is system dependent, if at all the system connot take anymore sessions/users, how the WF is going to behave?
Its just a general question irrespective of number of servers or O.S.

Thanks,
-Mahesh

My opinion is that the system would slow down to an unacceptable level, I do not believe it would crash.

Hi,

when the system runs out of resources I would not exclude a crash
However this is not related to the number of users / sessions but to things like disk space, virtual memory, file handles, connection handles, etc.
