This is what the readme of the supportpac says:
Quote: |
README File for WebSphere MQ SupportPac ME61
============================================
WARNING
-------
Following the instructions in this SupportPac will indiscriminately apply the
kernel tuning parameters listed in the WebSphere MQ Quick Beginnings guide to
your system. The effect of this SupportPac on other kernel parameters is not
defined -- they may be changed to meet dependencies of other parameters, or
they may change as a result of the necessary changes.
PURPOSE
-------
This SupportPac is designed to give users of WebSphere MQ on HP-UX a more rapid
method of setting the minimum required kernel parameters at installation time.
INSTALLATION
------------
This SupportPac is installed using the HP standard swinstall command. For
instance, if you extracted the tarball into /tmp/ME61, the correct command would
be:
swinstall -s /tmp/ME61/ME61-5.3.1.0.depot ME61
USAGE
-----
To apply the kernel parameters, open the HP SAM tool, then navigate through
"Kernel Configuration", then "Configurable Parameters". Now select the
"Actions" menu, then "Apply Tuned Parameter Set...". This will bring up a list
of tuned parameter sets. Select "WebSphere MQ 5.3 Server Tuned Kernel v1.0",
then click OK.

Applying this on a box where there are multiple QMGRs is not a good idea. You should take the paramenters that are in the HP Quick Beginnings. Verify them with what are already present on the system. Usually on HP, the kernel parameters are in the file /stand/system
