Hi all,
We are running some load tests with a simple flow (1 block, 3 processes, 6 activities, standard containers) and one thing stands out as a concern is the amount of lock wait time in the Workflow database.
Some statements run in less than 0.01 of a second 99% of the time but sometimes take over 2 seconds. The maximum execution time of an SQL statement in the Workflow database during the testing was 2.29 seconds.
Is this a known problem, or even an expected condition, with DB2 Workflow databases? _________________ Warm Regards,

Hi,
what do you expect? If your load test basically does the same sequence of
API calls, all execution servers will call the same DB calls in parallel and lock the same tables / rows. So it cannot be avoided that wait times occur in the DB. This is basic DB behaviour and not specific to MQWF.
Tuning the DB ( e.g. multiple disks for the tables ) helps to minimize the DB response time. |
